This release introduces an improvement to Peppol e-invoice attachments, ensuring the main invoice document is clearly identified when sent to your customers.
Invoicing
Document Description for Peppol Invoice Attachments
When sending Peppol e-invoices that include multiple attachments (such as the original invoice, delivery notes, or timesheets), it can sometimes be unclear which document is the primary invoice. To improve clarity for receiving systems, we've updated how these files are handled.
Now, the system automatically marks the actual invoice document within the Peppol file with a standard description, such as "Commercial invoice" or "Credit note." This helps ensure that the main invoice is correctly identified, even when other supporting documents are included. Only the document identified as the invoice will be marked in this way.
Important Considerations:
- Credit Notes: While the attached credit note document is now correctly labeled, the overall Peppol file still identifies itself as an invoice. This means some receiving systems might process these as regular invoices. We are planning a larger change to address this in the future.
- Unidentified Invoices: If an e-invoice has multiple attachments and none can be clearly identified as the main invoice, the first attachment will be marked by default.
- Verification: We recommend verifying this change with your accounting system to ensure documents are picked up as expected.
